2018 Womxn’s March, January 20, 10:00AM
Demonstrators will gather for the 2018 Womxn’s March here in Seattle on Saturday, January 20, starting at 10:00AM. Will you be there?
This march is open to people of all genders, races, and classes to come and show support for women’s rights, racial equity, human rights, civil rights, disability rights, LGBTQIA rights, workers’ rights, immigrant rights, reproductive rights, Indigenous people’s rights, and social and environmental justice. It is a peaceful and family-friendly event, so feel free to bring along kids.
Seattle’s march will begin at 10:00AM at Cal Anderson Park and will be led by members of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women of Seattle group. Marchers will leave from Cal Anderson by about 11 and make their way to the Seattle Center.
Marchers are encouraged to plan ahead for transportation and use light rail or other public transportation to reach the march sites. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and bring water. Signs are also welcome.
Womxn Act on Seattle, January 21, All Day
For those participating in the march (and those who can’t make it), be sure to also head out to the Womxn Act on Seattle events around the city on January 21.
Womxn Act on Seattle is a citywide day of learning, supporting, sharing, and acting on behalf of nonprofits and other social justice groups. This is a day of action to follow up on the day of demonstration at the Womxn’s March. Events include exhibitions and performances, voter registration drives, lectures, potlucks, trainings, and food drives.
