Welcome!

We are delighted that you have come to check out our website. We are a socially active, spiritually open, theologically progressive, justice-oriented congregation in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle. Everyone is welcome here! Read through the sections under “Who Are We?” to find out more about us!

Join us for in-person worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m.

Our services are also online, here!  You can watch current and previous services.

We would love to know more about you! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can email Rev. Melissa Ramming at melissa@wallingfordumc.org to request more information.

In order to create a worship experience where we all feel safe and welcomed, we have the following Covid precautions:

  • Optional masking.  We have air filtration devices in the sanctuary and as the weather warms, we will open the windows.

  • Stay home if you’re sick.  If you are unvaccinated and have been exposed to COVID, please stay home until you have two negative home tests two days apart.  If you are ill, even with a negative COVID test, we recommend you stay home and worship with us online at www.youtube.com/c/WallingfordUMCSeattle

  • Limiting physical contact. We acknowledge that there are many levels of comfort with physical contact amongst the people that gather here. So, we are taking several steps to help limit physical contact.

    • Color-coded name tags: The name tags on the welcome table are color-coded to help you quickly communicate your comfort level with physical contact.

    • Passing the Peace: While some may be more comfortable in sharing a handshake or a hug, we encourage all to practice consent in how you encounter another person.  Consider a simple gesture like a hand over the heart or a small bow when you greet one another.

  • Coffee Hour: We invite you to stay after worship and fellowship with one another in the Narthex (entry way).

  • Children’s Church: children ages 4-12 are invited downstairs following the Children’s Message for a short Sunday school experience.

Our hope is for this to be an inclusive, accessible, and hospitable place for all to experience the work of the divine in themselves, in others, and in our world! We hope that is your experience!

Yours in grace, peace, and friendship,

Wallingford United Methodist Church

Black Lives Matter

As a community of faith, we affirm the inclusiveness of the Gospel and celebrate diversity.  We acknowledge our complicity in systemic racism and commit to ongoing self-reflection, prayer, action, and support in order to change ourselves, our church and our society.  We are forming an Anti-Racism Task Force to assure ongoing commitment and action to this work.  We welcome your support and invite you to join us in this endeavor.
