Wallingford United Methodist Church has been a Reconciling Congregation for over 30 years.
Our Reconciling Ministries team helps to support and advocate for the LGBTQIAX community in our church, the greater Seattle area, the United Methodist Church as a whole, and the world at large.
The Reconciling Ministries group at Wallingford has participated in numerous events over the years to advocate for inclusion. Some past actions include attending the national United Methodist Conference, coordinating housing and transportation for participants in a Trans* conference in Seattle, promoting and attending local events that support the LGBTQIAX community, working with other local United Methodists to promote inclusion, and much more.
One of the most important annual events for the Wallingford Reconciling Ministries team is Seattle’s Pride Festival and Parade. Each year, Seattle gathers for a weekend of celebrating our diverse community. Wallingford’s Reconciling Ministries team marches in the parade and hosts a hospitality booth at the festival every year.
